Step 1: Opening Tally and Accessing the Company Creation Screen

  1. Launch Tally ERP and select Create Company from the main screen.

Step 2: Enter Company Details

  1. Company Name: Enter the legal name of the business.
  2. Mailing and Address Details: Input the official address and contact details.
  3. Financial Year and Books Beginning Date:
    • Financial Year: Set the start date for the fiscal year.
    • Books Beginning Date: Typically the same as the fiscal year start, or the date of first entry.

Step 3: Set Security and Base Currency

  1. Currency Information: Default is INR, but you can change it if needed.
  2. Enable Security Control: For added security, enable and set up an admin password.

Step 4: Configure Statutory Features

  1. Go to Statutory & Taxation in the setup.
  2. Enable applicable tax modules like GST, TDS, or TCS if required for the business.

Step 5: Save the Company Setup

Once all details are complete, press Enter to save and create your company.


Your company is now set up in Tally ERP, and you can start creating ledgers, recording transactions, and generating reports.
